ABOUT KATY

I have been photographing life since I was little. You know that person who shows up to every event with a camera? Yeah, that’s me. And now, I love to relive those memories flipping through my albums of film. Because that is truly what photography is about, being transported back in time to those emotions and memories that mean so much to you.

My professional journey began in high school, drawn to the world of black-and-white film. I was inspired by bold portraits from Annie Leibowitz and double exposures from Jerry Uelsmann. It amazed me the emotion these images could invoke. To this day, creating unique images that incorporate fine art techniques brings me the greatest joy. And when we aren’t chasing interesting light, I love just following along, noticing the moments, and capturing the significance between you both.

When I’m not behind a camera or a computer, you can find me exploring the outdoors of Idaho and beyond. For 30 years, Idaho has been my home and I continue to be amazed by the wild beauty surrounding us. From spring to fall to winter, the outdoors calls my name and I love spending time with my family exploring everything this world has to offer. This passion has inspired me to travel everywhere from Europe to Asia to South America and so many places in between.

I love pushing what I know and discovering new ways to bring ideas to life. With 7 years of wedding experience, you simply won’t find a more passionate photographer in Idaho.
