ABOUT KATY

Hi! I’m Katy. And since I know you’re wondering, my last name is pronounced ‘Kay-la’ (a cool alliteration, I know 🤩). Eight years ago, I was in your shoes. Realizing I had said yes to the love of my life and counting down the days until September 16, 2017, when we would marry.

We spent hours researching and planning, worrying about whether our day would be captured in a way that felt authentic to us. Stressing over ensuring our once-in-a-lifetime memories would be as magical as we remembered. And then we found the perfect photographer.

I don’t remember all the details of the day, but I do remember how I felt. I remember the wonder and joy, the adventure we had just begun; I still get giddy looking through my wedding album. I want you to feel the same way at the end of your wedding day.

Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated with capturing life, always asking my parents for cameras to freeze moments in time. Now, as I flip through albums I’ve created over the years, I see the true power of photography—preserving memories that transport us back to the feelings, laughter, and love of each moment.

Idaho has been my home for 30 years, and its beauty still amazes me. When I’m not behind the camera or a computer, I’m outdoors—hiking, exploring, and making memories with my family. This passion for adventure has taken me across the world, from Europe to Asia to South America, though Idaho will always have my heart.

I love pushing what I know and discovering new ways to bring ideas to life. With 8 years of wedding photography experience, you simply won’t find a more passionate photographer in Idaho.

“She made every step of the process fun and easy, capturing stunning, heartfelt moments from our engagement to our wedding day. Katy has a way of making you feel at ease while capturing stunning, candid moments. Her creativity and attention to detail are unmatched, and she treats you like family. We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer!”

Software Engineer

From a young age, I have always loved computers. I turned that love into a career and created mobile and web apps for over a decade. Now? I use that knowledge to better my photography business. It truly amazes me how much art and science intertwine.

Storytelling is at the heart of what I do, and books are my favorite way to explore new ideas. Whether it’s an epic fantasy, a thought-provoking sci-fi, or a business book that sparks growth, I’m always reading —because learning never stops. Ask me about reading 54 books in a year!

Travel is my love language.

Nothing makes me happier than experiencing all the beautiful places the world has to offer and meeting incredible people along the way. Hiking and eating my way through every country is at the top of my bucket list.

The KKP Process

  • Tears well up as a couple shares their wedding vows, fully immersed in the moment. The soft candlelight against the brick wall and the window above add to the warm, romantic atmosphere.

    1. Understand what matters to you

Your love story is one of a kind, and my process ensures it’s told in a way that feels authentic to you. I prioritize learning what you value most, creating space for your personality to shine, and ensuring I capture the memories that make your day unforgettable.

  • With heartfelt smiles, an Idaho groom and his soon-to-be father-in-law share a meaningful embrace, capturing the deep emotions of the day.

    2. Find the magic in your story

You and your story are one-of-a-kind. When I spend time engaging with your story, I ensure I can plan with intention and capture the memories that matter most to you.

    3. Intentionally plan to bring your story to life

Your wedding day is full of carefully made decisions that reflect your love story, and your photography should be no different. That’s why I take the time to understand your vision before the big day, ensuring every meaningful moment is captured beautifully and authentically.

  • Wrapped in the bride’s veil, an Idaho couple shares a quiet, tender moment. She admires him lovingly while he closes his eyes, fully immersed in their connection.

    4. Be present. Work hard. Bring the joy.

Come wedding day, I show up ready to celebrate with you! You can relax and stay fully present, knowing I’m handling your memories.

  • Against the backdrop of the golden-lit Snake River Canyon, a couple stands hand in hand on a rugged cliff. The groom, dressed in black, leans into his bride in her elegant white gown, soaking in the beauty of the landscape and their moment together.

    5. Preserve your memories for generations to come

It is important that you walk away from your wedding with something real. We’ll celebrate all the memories and create a custom-designed, museum-grade album so you can relive the day as much and as often as you want.
